She also works part time for the college as an academic coach.
Beebe loves science. When asked about why she chose chemistry, she said, “I believe the thing that inspires me most about my major is how much you can do with it and it can all be so different.” She said she made the toughest choice not to attend Xavier University in Louisiana and now she believes that attending HCCC was the best choice for her. Beebe is very proud to be part of HCCC because she has gained so much educationally, academically, and socially in addition to learning how to be a leader through her involvement at the college.
She was always interested in leadership opportunities, and she said that it has been very fulling as a college experience. Through her involvement in clubs and honor societies and in her job as an academic coach, Beebe has made a big impact by working together with teams who are interested in the same goals. She is a very motivated student who works well with others and has worked in many projects with PTK and SGA to give back to her college and help other students grow in their leadership positions. She was also the organizer and captain of the Thanksgiving Canned Food Drive, which donated approximately 200 cans of food to the homeless shelter. Beebe has been presented with various awards such as Kaplan Leadership Scholar, Honorable Mention for Honors Research Paper, Hudson County Government Scholarship, S-STEM Scholarship, Middle States Region Scholar Award, The National Society of Leadership and Success Award, Phi Theta Kappa Induction/Membership, and HCCC Dean’s List.
Beebe has gained leadership training and education from Hudson County Community and become a very well-rounded student because of all the opportunities that she has sought and taken advantage of. Her words of wisdom to her fellow scholars are: “Be unapologetically you, come out of your comfort zone and take charge of your life, educational goals and future.”
